Poonam Khubani
A noted actress, recording artist, TV personality and producer, Poonam Khubani has mastered the balance between artistic creativity and keen business savvy.
With classical training in singing and dance, Poonam has been performing from a very young age where she entertained the masses on All India Radio. Bollywood soon took notice of her beauty and talent as well as television, where she starred on the hit Asian primetime series “Wah Janab.” Poonam is a pioneer in becoming the first Hindi News Anchor on ITV, Vision of Asia and TV Asia in North America and Canada.
Poonam’s passion for the arts has made its way to Broadway and beyond, as she has been involved with several productions including the multi-Tony Nominated musical “Passing Strange,” “November” starring Tony Award winner Nathan Lane, and “Legends” starring Joan Collins and Linda Evans.
Her singing ability landed her at the top of the recording charts with the song ‘Ek Look Ek Look’ composed by Anand Raj Anand which was featured in the Bollywood movie Aryan. Bosco Ceaser choreographed several of her music videos. Her newest album is composed by celebrated film music director, Meet Bros titled Pretty Woman. The music videos are choreographed by famed award-winning Bollywood choreographer Remo D’ Souza.
Poonam has been awarded numerous awards for her professional and cultural contributions. Most recently she received the Pioneer in entertainment award, NRI Television and Film Award, Icon Award from Magna Publications and Stardust, the Roshini (Light of Asia) Award and special recognition from Children’s Hope of India. She also holds the visual media award from the New India Times.
On the business front, Poonam is at the helm of Telebrands International expanding the company’s Global reach in over 100 countries. With headquarters based in Fairfield NJ, Khubani earned the accolade of being recognized by Forbes as Top Women Executives of Indian heritage in America, and being one of the Top 25 Leading Women Entrepreneurs of New Jersey, while European Audiovisual Observatory appointed her on their board. She is the first chairwoman of Electronic Retail Organization.
She works tirelessly for her charitable interest and dedicates her spare time to causes like Children’s Hope India, a foundation that helps disadvantaged children in India, and sits on a board of multiple organizations like the prestigious Newark Museum, and the International Advertising Association.
