ABOUT THE SHOW
In celebration of India's 75th year of Independence and co-presented by the Indo-American Arts Council, jazz vocalist and bandleader Sachal Vasandani has assembled a spellbinding
collection of artists from East and West. With his feet firmly planted in the jazz tradition, witnessed by his sold out shows in the Appel Room honoring Nat King Cole's centennial
in 2019, he embraces his Indian heritage along with special guest vocalist and Grammy Award nominee, Priya Darshini, a captivating singer whose work takes cues from her Indian
Classical music roots. Joined by a stellar cast that includes bassist Harish Raghavan (Charles Lloyd), Grammy-nominated pianist Orrin Evans, saxophonist Dayna Stephens, and drummer
Kush Abadey. Also joining on Friday is Vanisha Gould, another outstanding jazz singer that embraces the global language of Jazz.
