IAAC Marketing/Events Intern
DESCRIPTION:
The IAAC Intern is creative, takes initiative and is enthusiastic about live events and  the performing arts within the Indo-American community. This person is a champion for the Indo-American Arts Council and all its endeavors and an active member of the team onsite at events, pre event planning and marketing and administrative activities. This internship will provide you with exposure to all facets of a non-profit including areas such as community engagement, brand management, social and event management including ticketing and sales.  The intern will also engage with high profile sponsors, dignitaries and entertainers.  Approximately a 5-10 hrs a week of work during non-event time period. There is an expectation to be available during the event as a key member of the event team. The calendar for the Year 2021 is already locked in.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The interns will report to the Executive Director or the Festival Directors.
DUTIES:
- Assist with the implementation of the organization’s marketing plan and advertising campaigns
- Represent and be front line interface at IAAC events
- Responsible for management of pre-event ticket management
- Fulfill artist hospitality requirements as needed
- Represent IAAC at performances as season permits (nights and weekends)
- Distribute promotional materials throughout the community
- Publish event information to community calendars, and track as needed
- Participate in community and outreach events
- Create and publish content across platforms (social media and eblasts)
- Update organization’s website as needed with the back-end db team
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently junior and senior pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in marketing or an interest in the arts & entertainment arena
- Experience and/or interest in the entertainment industry, non-profit organization and community development
- Familiarity of NYC Indo-American Community
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional time management skills
- Must be flexible, adaptable and willing to take on new tasks as needed
- Must be able to work with and around many interruptions
